The L3e version of the Silence S02 is approved as an L3e vehicle, which places it in the legal category equivalent to a 125 cc scooter. Its motor has a nominal power of 4 kW (with peaks up to 6.3 kW), thus complying with the maximum limit of 11 kW required by regulations for this engine capacity. Additionally, it reaches a top speed of 85 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 45 km/h in just 4.65 s, figures closely aligned with the typical performance of a 125 cc petrol scooter.
The L1e version of the S02 is approved as an L1e vehicle, equivalent to a 50 cc moped. Its motor complies with the power limit of up to 2 kW, and the speed is restricted to 45 km/h, exactly the legal maximums for this category. With these specifications, this electric scooter offers a similar or superior experience to 50 cc petrol scooters in daily use.
You can ride the S02 (L3e version) with an A1 licence or B licence, if held for more than 3 years, and the S02 (L1e version) with an AM or B licence.
The S02 is designed with high standard features that distinguish it from other electric scooters: a range of 133 km approved and acceleration from 0-45 km/h in 3.9 seconds. It also has three riding modes and reverse gear, full LED lighting and attractive extras such as SIM connectivity – Mobile APP for 3 years free with geolocation features, remote scooter opening and status reports, and free insurance for one year. *On purchases made during the year 2020.
With a Silence electric scooter, which only uses electricity and has maintenance reduced to tyres and brakes, we can save a total of around 255 euros per year every 5,000 km.
For every 100 km travelled, approximately 5.84 kWh is consumed. Assuming that the average off-peak tariff rate is 0.12€/kWh; a Silence electric scooter will cost 0.70€ per 100 km travelled. In contrast, a petrol scooter with the same characteristics uses 4 litres every 100 km, with petrol at an average of 1.45€/l, you would spend 5.80€ every 100 km.
