The Mayor of Madrid takes the S04 – Silence’s first electric four-wheeler – for a test drive

José Luís Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, accompanied by José Manuel Entrecanales, CEO of ACCIONA, drove Silence’s first four-wheeled vehicle – the S04 – around the capital today.

The Mayor and Borja Carabante, Environment and Mobility Delegate for Madrid, visited the Silence dealership in Madrid (C/ Serrano 226), where they were greeted by the CEO of ACCIONA and by Carlos Sotelo, CEO of Silence.

The test drive started at the dealership and took in the most central areas of the capital, such as Puerta de Alcalá and Plaza de Cibeles.

Before getting behind the wheel of a pre-series S04 model, the Mayor and the Environment and Mobility Delegate visited Silence’s new flagship store, where they discovered the products of the vehicle manufacturer and its innovative battery swapping system.

This system is also available at the Canalejas 360 Hub promoted by Madrid City Council and managed by the Municipal Transport Company (EMT), and will soon be extended to different points across the capital, including five CEPSA service stations.

SPECIFICATIONS OF THE S04

The S04 is a 100% electric model, created with its own technology and specially designed for city driving. This vehicle, with a length just over two metres (2282×1268 cm), can carry two people. In addition, it features a boot for shopping bags and luggage.

Among the advantages of the S04 is also the “My Silence” app, which allows users to unlock the doors and start and stop the vehicle from their smartphone without the need for a key – although the driver will always have a spare key. The app also allows users to control other features, such as the air-conditioning, ventilation, door locking, alarm and electric windows.

The first four-wheeled vehicle by Silence is powered by the same battery system as the company’s scooters, which can be removed and charged from any conventional power point. This means that the batteries in all of the make’s vehicles are interchangeable and charged anywhere.

The commercial launch of the S04 is planned for 2023.
